Annual Report (2019-20)

Martin Luther King said, Intelligence and character are the goals of true education. Exploring new dimensions using a comprehensive pedagogy, DPSGI enhances the overall intellect of students. The efforts of the school have borne fruit in the form of exemplary performance by students in the field of academic rigor.

Our Class XII results have been stupendous with a school average of 85%. Devak Singh topped the school with a whooping 97.8%. 19 students scored straight 100s. 27% students scored more than 90%.

Class X secured a mind blowing 86% class average, with 44% students scoring more than 90%. Arnav Jain topped the results with 97.4%. Flawless 100s were scored in Maths, Social Science and ICT.

DPSGI believes in instilling life skills and values through a gamut of activities and celebrations. These include celebrating festivals, subject weeks, class presentations, special days
Education tours and visits which provide valuable learning opportunities.

Students participated in a painting workshop held at Yogshala Expo 2019. They also attended an ATL community day. Our team got the opportunity for experiential learning during a trip to National Science Centre. Our Learners attended a workshop on “Art of being Brilliant” where Mr. Andy Cope was the keynote speaker.

DPSGIans attended the World Robotic Olympiad Regional Championship on 'Smart Cities'. German learners participated in Namaste Deutschland Inter School German Language Festival 2019 and attended various workshops. Students also visited the National Craft Museum at Pragati Maidan and gained insight into our rich culture. 

DPSGI provided ample scope to students to display their inherent talents through the Annual multi-cultural fest Vivacity – 2019. At Yothopia – 2019, the Annual Interschool Commerce Fest the hosts bagged the first Runners Up position in Suno Sunao and Bulls and Bears. Arpit Agarwal and Impreet Singh, our alumni made the event special by their presence.

A Storytelling and Cartooning session Daastan -e- Goi for students was organized in collaboration with The Times of India under the NIE programme. To Infuse a respect for tradition and culture the school hosted a SPIC MACAY performance by renowned vocalist Dr. Meeta Pandit. Students also attended a Kathak recital by Ms. Rani Khaanam.

The Student Empowerment Programme is the school’s endeavor towards developing leadership skills. Students attended leadership camps at Caving paradise Nainital and Tiger District, Jim Corbett. The follow up to the leadership camps was the selection of the prefectorial board which were sworn in at an impressive Investiture Ceremony.

The school mentors its students to surpass their boundaries and reach the pinnacle of success. Deepali Midha of Class XII bagged the All India 3rd Position from among 14,600 entries at The Stamp designing competition organized by the Department of Post, Ministry of Communication along with UNICEF on the topic of ‘Child Rights’. It was a privilege to receive the award from the Honourable Vice President of India

Srijita Pal won the 1st position at the Bharatnatyam dance competition organized by Gandharv Sangeet Mahavidyalya. She won the 1st Position at the Regional level painting competition organized by Bureau of Energy Efficiency and participated at the State Level competition.

Class XI Commerce students brought accolades to the school as they won the overall trophy at Vanijya Mahotsava. Mohit Tiwary and Yash Tyagi won the Best Delegate Award at Diplomathon 2019. Our students participated in the 3rd Inter DPSGS Cultural and Athletic Meet and won honours in Cultural, IT and photography events.

In​ Sangam – A Multitude of Languages Competition our team won honours in different events.​ Class XI participated in the first round of Quiz whiz 2019 and were selected for the 2nd round. At the Sela Qui and DPSGS Cultural and IT Event -2019 we won accolades in the Sketching and Shading, dramatics and Q Quest. At the Cresendo 2019 we bagged top honours in Burlesque and Thrust events and the 2nd position in Face to Face.

At Interzoid 2019 we secured the1st position in Espirit of Entreprenship and 3rdposition in Group Song. Our students attempted a quiz organized by BYJU’s and 6 students topped the ranks. Two of our students have also been selected for the second level of DSSL. At Diwali Fiesta 2019 our students won a cash prize.

Scientific temperament is a way of life at DPSGI.
We hosted 96 schools at the CBSE Regional Science Exhibition and the school’s indigenous Project ‘Frigit’ was selected for participation at the National CBSE Science Exhibition. We hosted the District Level Workshop for Science teachers and Later hosted the 27thDistrict Level National Children’s Science Congress.

Aditri Narula and Parmit Kaur have qualified for the State level competition with their project under the subtheme Waste to Wealth. The school has initiated an Innovation Club. In the 1st session the students interacted with the Sr Education Officer, National Science Centre.

Our team attended the Students Solar Ambassadors’ Workshop at Indira Gandhi Stadium in an attempt to make a Guinness World Record of highest number of people harnessing solar power simultaneously with 10,000 other students. In the Astronomy workshop organized by SPACE, students were given hands on training to set up telescopes and identify objects in the night sky.

At the Annual ‘A World In Motion’ -2019 event organized by Society for Automotive Engineers, our Skimmers team bagged the 3rd position and Jettoy team was declared the overall winners of NCR. They are now set to participate in the National event to be held at Chennai. As the overall winners of the event we have secured a wild card entry into the Nationals of the Gliders event.

Ayush Gupta and Chirag Aggarwal bagged the 2nd position and a cash prize of Rs. 4000 at Avishkar 2019 for their working model Solar Tracker. Alishba Anis and Nancy Adhana secured 1st position in Sciequest and Ayush Gupta and Chirag Agarwal in Bio Splash Working Model in Genesis 2019.

At DPSGI students are steered towards making right choices for a healthy life.
We hosted the CBSE North Zone Yoga Championship. 1100 students from 138 schools of the North Zone participated in the 3day event. ‘Yog Bhagaye Rog’ session was organized on the International Yoga Day. Yog guru Dr. Saroj Sirohi and wellness coach Dr. Chetan Kumar conducted sessions on active yoga.

The school organized a Mother Daughter session. Dr. Punam Grover, a renowned gynaecologist shared various advisory tips on menstrual and personal hygiene. Earth Week was celebrated with a plethora of activities like making bags out of used T-shirts, shoe boxes, old jeans, newspapers. to encourage Reuse and recycling of resources. The method of making bio- enzyme from fermentation of kitchen waste was shared as a step towards a chemical free life.

Our students have benefitted immensely from the varied sports facilities at school and have proved their grit and pluck through a range of sports triumphs.

4 golds, 11 silver and 10 bronze medals At the Sela Qui and DPSGS Meet. 5 gold, 18 silver and 15 bronze medals sat the 3rd Inter DPSGS Cultural and Athletic Meet. 5 gold and 1bronze medal and Selection in the Indian Skating team at the 2nd International Speed Skating Championship organized by SSFI. Bronze medal in the 400mts race at the SSPF State Athletic Championship.1 gold and 1 silver medal at the District Athletics Championship.

2nd position in the 500mts race At the CBSE Skating Zonal Championship and selection to compete in the CBSE National Skating Championship. The 3rd position in Taekwando in Spectrum 2019. A Gold medal at the National level Karate championship held at Shimla. The 2nd position in U-16 girls at 4th Inter School 7A Side Football Tournament organized by DPSG International.

We DPSGians believe that Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile. Through The Dexterous Hands Club we make an effort to make world a better place. To celebrate Yuletide the school organized a Christmas Carnival where students sold self-made handicraft items. The proceeds of the sale were used to prepare gift hampers for inmates of an orphanage.

The school Interact Club also organized a successful Blood Donation camp in collaboration with Rotary Blood bank. At an exciting and fun-filled Grandparents’ Day organized to honour the senior members of our families, the first lady of the DPSG Society Mrs. Niharika Pathak inaugurated the special Food and Gaming zone.

Grandparents walked the ramp and enjoyed snacks which students had made themselves through flameless cooking. Labour Day was celebrated as Appreciation Day with a special assembly to honour and appreciate the support staff. Diwali was celebrated in the true festive spirit with a special assembly and Diwali Fest. Students put up food and games stall for parents who also participated in a Ramp Walk and Talent Show.

Usable clothes, food packets, handmade diyas were collected to be distributed among the underprivileged children and old age home inmates. Our Dexterous hands are also working with Helpage India to collect funds for the senior citizens

Taking our efforts a step further We participated in the “Ghaziabad Rahagiri: Ek Satyagrah” programme organized by Ghaziabad Administration to promote their drive for a cleaner and greener city. Our artists also showed their talent in the beautification of the road and culvert leading to the school. DPSGians put up a stall to create awareness towards a clean and green Ghaziabad as a mark of solidarity with the Nagar Nigam.

The school participated in an initiative headed by Municipal Commissioner to make Ghaziabad polythene free. A tree plantation drive was also organized at Govindpuram as a part of the school Vanmahotsav. Ms. Deeksha Bhandari, DFO Ghaziabad planted a sapling and inaugurated a compost pit in school on International Yoga day.

True leaders don’t create followers, they create more leaders. At DPSGI we create true leaders.
Classes IX – XII participated in the District Interact Leadership Assembly. The installation ceremony of the Dexterous Hands Interact Club was organized under the guidance of Rotary Club New Delhi One. The school club also received its Charter Certificate at the ceremony. The Annual Proclamation Ceremony ‘Honours to Scholars’ was held in the amphitheater and students were honoured for their meritorious performance.

The school organized two Education Fairs where representatives of Reputed Universities from national and international study destinations spoke about the various study and course options. An orientation workshop to guide the students for higher education was also held.

DPSGI has been chosen as the lead collaborator in the prestigious Hubs of Learning project of CBSE where we will be sharing our best practices with the 5 schools in our hub. An Intensive Workshop ‘Train the Trainer’ on Jolly Phonics and Play based learning was organized for Play School Educators.

Our school is now affiliated with NCC UP 13 battalion for girls. The school has also registered its students under Bulbul and Cub categories with UP Scouts and Guides Association. A Road safety and self-defense session was conducted in the school by Ghaziabad Traffic Department.

“In learning you will teach, and in teaching you will learn.” True to this thought our teachers attended workshops on a wide range of subjects and skills. These included CBSE capacity building workshops, Adobe School Leaders Summit, TeacherSity workshops, Apple Workshop, and PYP Summit. Ms. Surbhi Jain visited Germany on a scholarship for an advanced course in German.

Honours at the DPSGI are not the monopoly of only the students. Four faculty members have earned the title of Adobe Creative Ambassadors, highest across the country. 4 faculty members were awarded with Teacher Innovation Award for Sustainable efforts towards promoting joyful and experiential learning. 7 teachers were selected as Microsoft Innovative Educator Experts.

Ms. Payal Goel was one of the 100 educators selected to attend the Microsoft Edu Days Summit. Our Headmistress has been selected to receive the Global Education award of the Outstanding Educational Influencer.

Our Principal Ms. Meera Mathur has also been honoured with ‘Abhinandan - Distinguished Educator’s Award for Exemplary contribution in the field of education by Rotary New Delhi One. Ms. Mathur was also felicitated with the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Excellence Award for Education 2019 for her outstanding performance in the field of education. Principal ma’am has been chosen as ‘The Innovative Principal of The Year.

Our school is the proud recipient of the British Council International School Award twice in a row and is now gearing up to add a third award to its kitty.

DPSG International has been awarded by Future 50 schools Shaping Success for “Preparing the Students to Succeed in 21st Century”. The school has recently received the Education World Award – C Fore Survey 2019 and is listed amongst the Top Ten schools in Ghaziabad.

Close at the heels of these awards follows some good news. We are proud to announce that our school has been selected as the No. 1 school among Co-ed Day school in India in a survey conducted by Education Today. We have also been chosen to receive the Global Education Award for Exceptional School In Holistic Development. The ceremony for these awards is yet to be held.

The DPSGI team believes “An idea that is developed and put into action is more important than a notion that exists only as an idea.” Today we proudly say that our school is a storehouse of innumerable ideas which we wish to explore and see to their fruition.
