DPSGS Athletic and Cultural Meet
Opening Ceremony -
The scintillating opening ceremony of the DPSGS Athletic and Cultural Meet was held in the school grounds of DPSG international in the presence of chief guest Mr. S.N Singh, S.P Traffic Ghaziabad. The event was presided over by Mr. Rohit Pathak, Director HR DPSG Society. The ceremony began with the Sarvdharma Prarthana followed the welcome and felicitation of guests by the Principal. This was followed by the school teams of all the participating 9 teams marching in perfect unison to the tunes of school band. After the lighting of the ceremonial torch Mr. Rohit Pathak declared the meet officially open. Speaking on the occasion Mr. S.P Singh urged the students to participate in sports and cocurricular activities with the same efforts and zest as they put in into their academic preparations. Mr. Pathak also encouraged the students to give their best and not to be disheartened by defeat and take it as a stepping stone for the next challenge.
The cultural and athletic events began simultaneously at different venues and the students were eager to get into the helm of the competition. The event saw some stupendous performance both in athletics as well as cultural events.
Closing Ceremony -
The DPSGS Athletic and Cultural Meet ended today with a dazzling closing ceremony held in the school grounds. Mr. Abhigyan Malvya Additional District Sports Officer was the Chief Guest for the occasion and Mr. Anshul Pathak Vice Chairman DPSG Society and Chairman DPSG International presided over the ceremony and gave away the trophy to the overall champion. Principal Mrs. Anita Sethi welcomed and felicitated the guests and thanked them for encouraging the participants with their presence. The junior wing students presented a mesmerizing field show which was an amalgamation of yoga and aerobics. Speaking on the occasion Chief Guest Mr. Abhigyan Malvya congratulated the winners and encouraged the other participants to use their experience to prepare for next year’s competition. Mr. Anshul Pathak also congratulated the winners and declared the meet closed. He also announced that next year’s the event would be hosted by DPSG Palam Vihar.
The overall winner for the Cultural meet was DPSG International with DPSG Meerut securing the 2nd position.
In the Athletic events DPSG Meerut Road was adjudged the champions with DPSG International in the 2ndposition.
Senior Coordinator Ms. Manbir Mahendra extended the formal vote of thanks to all guests and parents.
CBSE Girls Football Cluster (under 17)
The school girls football team participated in the CBSE Girls Football Cluster (under 17) being held at Translam Academy Mawana Road Meerut and bagged the third position.
Four of our students participated in the North Zone Skating Championships held at DPS Meerut and won laurels for the school. Anirudh Tyagi bagged the 2nd position in the 500 mts race and secured his participation in the CBSE National Championships.
CBSE NORTH ZONE TAEKWANDO CLUSTER
Our students won laurels at the CBSE North Zone Taekwondo Cluster held at R.R. Public School.
Osho Ketan Bhardwaj bagged the bronze medal in the above 50 kg category for boys.
CBSE Athletic Cluster
Saanvi Chaudhary of class XII brought honours to the school at the CBSE Athletic Cluster XIX held at Blue Bird School Amroha from 4th- 7th November, 2017. She secured the 2nd place in the 100mts dash and was selected to represent the school in the CBSE Athletic Nationals.
3rd Inter School Athletic Meet
The 3rd Inter School Athletic Meet was held at DPSG Meerut Road in which the students of DPSG International brought laurels to the school with their talent. Aditi Bhainsora of class XII won 2 silver medals in 100mts race and long jump and Saanvi Choudhary also of class XII won 2 silver medals in 100 mts and 200 mts race. Ram Swami and Harshmeet Singh of class X also won a silver medal in high jump and 100mts hurdles respectively.
Inter House Cricket Tournament
Inter House Cricket matches for classes IX – XII were held as a part of the Annual sports calendar. In the first knockout match Satluj House beat Yamuna House and in the second knockout match Cauvery defeated Ganga to secure its position in the final match. The finals were won by Yamuna House by a respectable margin.
In the girls event the first knockout was played between Cauvery who defeated Satluj by a convincing margin.
Inter House Basketball Competition
As a part of the Annual sports calendar, Inter House Basketball matches were held for students of classes VI-VIII. In the first knockout match for boys Cauvery House was defeated by Yamuna House by slim margin and in the second knockout match Ganga defeated Satluj to secure its position in the final match. The boys finals were won by Yamuna House by a respectable margin.
In the girls event the first knockout was played between Satluj and Yamuna which Yamuna House won convincingly. In the second knockout match Cauvery defeated Ganga by a good margin and further went on to win the finals against Yamuna by a slim margin.
Inter House Football Competition
The school yearly sports calendar began in the earnest with the Inter-House Football matches for IX – XII group being held on 20thApril, 2017. The first knock-out match was played between Satlej and Ganga after which Satlej qualified for the final match with Yamuna, who emerged victorious after defeating Cauvery in the 2nd knockout match. The final scores were 2-1 and Satlej emerged the champion house.
Sports Day Celebration
The yearly athletic & sports programme of DPSG International culminated with celebration of the Annual ESSFA day on 21st January 2017.
Mr. Harbans Lal Suri, ex- Olympic athlete presided over the function and gave away the prizes to the winners. The event began with the students’ march past followed by the lighting of the torch. Various races, jumps and relays were conducted for all classes. Later class V students presented an amalgamation of music, sports yoga and aerobics in the form of their dances. Mrs. Anita Sethi welcomed the guests and parents and emphasized the need for sports and games to develop leadership and team spirit. She also declared the meet open.
Mr. Suri congratulated the winners and encouraged the students to participate in all sports in the true spirit of sportsmanship. He stressed on the need to keep the spirit of sports alive by participating and accepting defeats as a stepping stone to success and improvement.
Races and events were also organized for parents in which they participated enthusiastically.
The winners were felicitated with medals and certificates and trophies were awarded to best houses. Satlej House emerged victorious followed by Yamuna House in the Runner Up position.
The vote of thanks was delivered by the Junior wing Coordinator Ms. Malavika Yadav.
The yearly athletic & sports programme of the school with whole range of competitions and tournaments culminated in the annual ESSFA day.
This year, amid the riot of colour, fun and camaraderie the sporting calendar concluded with Cauvery House emerging victorious and Yamuna House in the 2nd place.
The best athlete awards in the various categories were picked up by Apoorv Sirohi forXI-XII boys, and Kriti Garg for XI-XII girls.
In the class IX – X category Arshad Khan for boys and Sandali Jain bagged the award for girls.
In class VIII Shoaib Khan and Shristi Tyagi won the best athlete awards for boys and girls respectively. In class VI Shristi Singh and Ansh Mudgal and in class VII Huda Bano and Rishabh Tyagi bagged the best athlete trophies.
The winners were awarded and encouraged by the Head of School Mrs. Anita Sethi.
Junior ESSFA Day 2015-16
Winners win, winners lose, winners play. Games and sports are integral part of a student’s life. Keeping this in mind Delhi Public School Ghaziabad International organized Junior ESSFA Day on 20 th November, 2015 in the school. The programme started with the march past and encouraging words from the Principal Anita Sethi. The students from classes Pre-nursery to V enthusiastically participated in different types of races. There were fun races too which the students enjoyed thoroughly. The winners were awarded certificates and medals. Over All Championship trophy for boys and girls category were also awarded. The programme came to an end with Head Mistress blessings.
